It started at school, with a Sony Cybershot that went everywhere I did. The camera got serious in 2015, the year I moved to Genova for a Master's and bought my first DSLR — and freelancing started the same year — web, marketing, and a camera people increasingly wanted in the room. From 2016 the photography was the work: weddings, agency shoots, whatever a freelancer says yes to while he is still learning.

Most of the decade since has been made along this coast: proposals on terraces above Monterosso, couples walking out of a town hall in the clothes they were married in, families on the pebbles at Camogli, a village at the hour the day-trippers leave.

Frames by Cian came in 2022. Not a new career — a name for the one already there, and somewhere to keep the photography and the filmmaking as their own work rather than the thing I did between client projects.

The other half is marketing: thirteen years of it, more than a hundred businesses in eleven countries. It sounds like a different job and isn't. Both come down to noticing what people actually look at, and giving them something worth looking at. Every frame is made to feel like the afternoon it came from, and to hold its own wherever it ends up — a wall, a feed, a wedding album opened twenty years from now.

I shoot with available light, walk more than I pose, and hand everything back edited in a private gallery, usually within two or three days. Nothing is staged that wasn't happening anyway.

If you like the work and would like to talk, write to me. It costs nothing, and nothing is booked by asking.
